I recently found a new band called HURT. I was instantly attracted to the unique sound of the hit song “Rapture”. The song goes back and forth between melody and crushing rock cords. It defies traditional music patterns and timing…in one word amazing. Hurt is
J. Loren
Vocals, Guitars, Violin
Evan Johns
Durms, Percussion, Piano
Joshua Ansley
Bass, Backgroud Video
Paul Spatola
Guitars, Background Vocals
The lead singer of Hurt J. Loren grew up in a strict religious home listening to gospel and classical music and of course rock was the “devils music”. Loren even studied classical violin and other stringed instruments. Loren’s musical choice changed when he saw Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy” on TV. Loren only knew the music he grew up with and was ready to expand his musical choices.
The drummer is the opposite of Loren; Evan Johns grew up around rock and roll. John’s dad produced for bands like Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Rod Steward, Van Halen and more. Johns spent a lot of this youth around these bands and had a love for this genre of music. When Johns was in the studio he fell in love with the drums and the rest is history.
Loren was playing gigs under the name Hurt with various musicians and had little success. Loren even said “I’d almost given up on playing music.” Loren finally met Johns and they clicked in the studio. .
The lyrics of a Hurt song are very deep and leave room for your own interpretation. One passage from “Rapture” reads, “She swore she heard the voice of Jesus / Telling her ‘It was wrong to keep it’ / And one more thing, it looked like me”; one from “Falls Apart” goes “Our skin tears away as our memories fade with age / And we don’t even know till it’s gone … Woe is me.”
I encourage you to watch the video for “Rapture” and give this unique sound a try. You may not like it at first, but like many other songs, it may grow on you.

Since Bow Wow's latest movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (which was magnificant by the way), Bow Wow saw a shift in his future and has told the public that he doesn't plan to stick with the rap game too long. He said his latest album "might be the last one". The 19-year-old rapper plans to make his so called last album the biggest one under his belt, and ending his career with other young rappers on his album like Chris Brown, and continued to be overseen by big-time hip/hop artist Jermaine Dupri, the next Bow Wow album should be a huge hit. When asked about the sound of his album he had this to say: "I'm going for a more edgy, kinda mature sound". Seeing as how the young rapper has grown up these years and has lived most of his childhood in the media spotlight, the new sound should be interesting. His last album should be released around next Halloween, and for the rest of Bow Wow, we might have to start calling him by his real name by reading through new movie credits. |

Rumor Alert
Many people think the latest Tool cd is a fake or part of a double disk that has not been released yet. A rumor has surfaced about the "real" Tool song list from the "real" cd. Here is the track list
Title: "THE DAYS OF MYRIAD"
1. The Unbelieveable
2. Thought Police
3. The Impeccablity Of Reason/Peccability Of Christ
4. Amalecite
5. DMT Journey
6. Íslenska
7. í Senn Forn Og Ný
8. Myriad
9. That Was Zen, This Is Now
10. O Sol
11. Stark Furt
Most of the songs could be tool songs but I'm skeptical of the titles "DMT Journey" and "That Was Zen, This Is Now", those titles just don’t sound like tool titles to me. Only the future will tell and until then Breaking Music News will keep you updated on all rumors and news.

This news story was not widely reported but of course you will find it on Breaking Music News.
Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was recently arrested for drunk driving in British Columbia's Lower Mainland in Canada.
Reports say officers were suspicious of Kroegers driving and Kroeger was also driving over the speed limit. Officers stopped Kroeger and a drunk driving investigation was initiated.
Kroeger was not charged with drunk driving at the time but was arrested and police say Kroeger will face drunk driving charges.

"I be that Nigga named Luda" finally Ludacris is back and is tired of other rappers taking jabs at him. Luda prepares to fire back with retaliatory rhymes on his new album "Release Therapy" set to be released this fall.
We know Ludacris never lets us down with his unique lyrics. On the first track Ludacris takes shots at an unknown foe with:
"I'm the best and there's nothing you can do about it. Keep running your mouth and I'ma knock a tooth up out it ... How many times you gonna rap about busting your gun... Only shots you ever took were subliminal to the general."
For now we can only speculate who Ludacris is rapping about since he doesn't mention any names.
Ludacris has an all star cast with him on his latest cd. Luda teams up with Neptunes for "Money Maker". R. Kelly makes an appearance on the track "Woozy", and Pharrell Williams returns on "Gone Wild." There is also talk of a track provided by the Black Eyed Peas.
It wouldn't be a Ludacris cd without the hot beats, this time Luda gets blazing beats from Kanye West, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupri, Rick Rubin and the Track Starz. Its clear Ludacris did not hold back with the star power on this album.
With all the stars on this album and lyrics like "I'm a heavyweight, you n---as is lighter than my complexion, Just figured out I'm ahead of my time With a flow so fast I'm ahead of my rhyme.", we are all looking forward to "Release Therapy". Let's hope the first single from "Release Therapy" drops soon and you know Breaking Music News will be the first ones to have it.
