An update on the Evanescence tour. I just found out the first leg of the North America tour is to reward hardcore fans with intimate theater/ballroom dates before heading into larger venues for shows in 2007.
A main tour should start in 2007 in larger venues.

3 Doors Down recently presented two checks to Hurricane Katrina victims.
Guitarist Matt Roberts presented a $25,000 check to his old school, the Resurrection Catholic School in Pascagoula on Tuesday.
In the nearby town of Gautier, band member Chris Henderson donated $75,000 to local aid group Presbyterian Disaster Assistance volunteers. The band was close to the devestation of Hurricane Katrina because they are from Mississippi.
Henderson says, "I ride by here every day I'm home, and this is my community, and it's incredible the work they've been doing for our local folks and communities, not only here in Gautier, but all over the coast. We're very glad to be able to help."
This is what we love to see at Breaking Music News. Great job 3 Doors Down.

Yes it's true, the band The Mars Volta, famous for their lengthy, epic, prog rock ballads have decided to go on a North American tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The big shock is that John Frusciante from RHCP is playing with them on their sets. Not only has Frusciante taken the lead guitarist place of The Mars Voltas, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, he has also recorded his guitar playing on their newest album "Amputechture". The sound of the new cd is very similiar because of The Mars Voltas signature sound, but they have cut down song times and have more versitile song differences. This brings us to the "out with the old, in with the new" meaning of the album title. Rodriguez-Lopez explains that even though there is passion and power behind his guitar playing, he has never been too into it. He enjoys other instruments and felt that he got the end of the stick when chosen to play the guitar. Rodriguez-Lopez is now writing and composing the bands music, but has not contributed any of his amazing guitar playing on the new album. The Mars Voltas album is released on September 19th, 2006.

From the sad, sad, reality show Newlyweds, which featured the newly married Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, came another bad spinoff called Meet The Barkers. Meet the Barkers featured Travies Barker (former member of Blink-182), his wife and Playboy Playmate Shanna Moakler, along with the three children Landon and Alabama Barker, and Shannas young daughter Atiana who is also the daughter of Oscar De La Hoya. The show came to an end just like Newlyweds did after the couple decided to get a divorce on Tuesday. The couple had married two years prior on October 30th, 2004. Travis Barker is now looking for joint custody over the couples' two boys. "My only concern right now is for the welfare and best interests of my children" Shanna Moakler said to the public. After two "married life" reality shows have both fizzled out in less then 4 years it seems that a reaccuring pattern has been drawn over the marriage timeline. Don't broadcast your married life to the world! |
